The Basque productions "Sangre de Unicornio" and "Viaje a pies", among the best short films of 2015

The animated short films "Sangre de Unicornio" by Alberto Vazquez, and "Viaje a pies" by Khris Cembe, both of the producer from Bilbao UNIKO, have been included in the catalogue created by the ICAA with the best short films of 2015.
The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) has created the catalog "Shorts from Spain", with a selection of the 10 best Spanish short films of 2015. It has been created with the aim of promoting the dissemination and presence of these works in national and international festivals and markets. Besides "Sangre de Unicornio" and "Viaje a pies" the selection also includes the titles "3/105", "Bikini", "El corredor", "Los Cárpatos", "Muebles Aldeguer", "Ser e voltar", "Soy tan feliz” and "Todo un futuro juntos”, reflecting a diversity of genres, styles and techniques.
"Sangre de Unicornio" and "Viaje a pies" are the representatives of the animation in this catalogue, besides being the only Basque productions included. "Sangre de Unicornio" is a fable with two bears as main characters, eager to hunt unicorns, in a reinterpretation of the myth of Cain and Abel. Produced by UNIKO with Abrakam Studio, it was a finalist for the 2015 Goya Awards, and has been presented in more than 200 international festivals, such as Annecy, Clermont Ferrand (France) or Slamdance ( USA) and has won more than 25 awards.
"Viaje a pies", meanwhile, is a black comedy that combines brilliant graphics with elements of suspense. Since its premiere in May 2015, it has been present in over 70 international festivals, such as Annecy (France), Foyle (Ireland), Anima Mundi (Brazil), AISFF (South Korea), ReAnimania (Armenia ) or AnimaSyros (Greece), and screening for the 30th edition of the Awards Goya®.
