The Basque writer Iban Zaldua will read his stories in Wroclaw

The Basque writer Iban Zaldua will travel to Wroclaw to take part in the International Short Story Festival Międzynarodowy Festiwal Opowiadania, with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute. The festival will be held on Ocober 1-5 in Wroclaw (Poland).

The International Short Story Festival is a multidimensional celebration of short prose, aiming at the promotion of ambitious books. It concentrates on the unusual presentation of narrative forms, researches the influence of literature on other arts, allows interaction between authors and the audience, at the same time allowing meetings between Polish and foreign artists. At the heart of the festival is the reading of stories by their authors, in original languages, with the translation simultaneously screened behind.

Iban Zaldua will offer his reading on October 3, at 6 pm, together with international writers: Han Kang, Marek Bieńczyk, Janusz Rudnicki, Wioletta Grzegorzewska, Krzysztof Varga, Halldór Armand Ásgeirsson, and Stefan Sprenger.

Zaldua teaches Economic history at the University of the Basque Country, but is known because of his writing works. He has write essays and novels but has specialized on short stories.
