The Etxepare Basque Institute, proud to be one of the pioneers in the use of the brand new domain .eus

On June 28, the PuntuEus Foundation presented the first organizations that will use the Basque internet domain .eus. The event was held at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao, and was attended among other representatives by Aizpea Goenaga, head of the Etxepare Basque Institute.

After presenting the pioneers in the use of the new domain, Joan Mari Torrealdai, president of the Foundation, also presented a review of the work done, and stressed on the variety of the participants: 92 companies and institutions of different size, origin, and character are leading the launch of the new domain. From September 16 to November 28 new participants will have the chance to join the Basque domain, in the next phase of the project. Domain name requests should be submitted before that deadline, and these will be activated on December 3, International Day of Euskara (Basque language).
