The Euskal Etxea of Berlin has gathered the writers Irati Elorrieta and Danele Sarriugarte

On November 27, the Euskal Etxea of Berlín organized a meeting of Basque writers Danele Sarriugarte and Irati Elorrieta, at 19:00. The works of both authors involve in one way or another the presence of the city of Berlin, and therefore, the Euskal Etxea wanted to bring them together to discuss experiences and different points of view.
To start event, Irati Elorrieta offered a talk on the presence of the works of authors writing in Basque abroad. After that, Berlin was the protagonist of meeting: texts of both authors were read in Basque and German. Appart from the texts of Sarriugarte and Elorrieta, they also read lines by other young authors as Hedoi Etxarte, Itxaso Araque or Beñat Sarasola. To finish the day, they hold a round table with the guests.
Irati Elorrieta was born in 1979 in Algorta. In 2007 she won the Gabriel Aresti prize for her story book Pot H. Pop, and a year later she published the book Burbuilak, whose fragments will be read in Berlin. The volume consists of 13 stories, and Berlin is the element that unites all of them.
Danele Sarriugarte lived in Germany while studying translation and interpretation. In 2014 she published her opera prima, Erraiak.
