The fair Expolangues says goodbye, until next year

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

2015-02-09

The Euskera traveled to Paris to take part at the world languages fair  Expolangues. Among the languages that gathered there, they were held numerous conferences, events and professional meetings. The Euskera has been represented by a stand and a cultural program.

On the stand organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Azkue Fundazioa, visitors could learn more about our language through different materials: books, teaching materials, dictionaries, references to the teaching of Basque worldwide, catalogues of books written in Basque and have been translated into other languages or an invitation to speak the first words in Basque.

Furthermore, our language was also heard in live: Gerardo Markuleta and Jabier Muguruza offered the musical poetry reading Zoopoèmes. The following day, on the other hand, the roundtable "Minority Language – virtual language" was held with the participation of Andreu Bosch (Institute Ramon Llull), Josune Ariztondo (Azkue Foundation), Pello Salaburu (Euskaltzaindia) and Aizpea Goenaga (Etxepare Basque Institute).

Markuleta and Muguruza also brought Zoopoèmesto the university Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III, an event organized by the readership of Basque language and culture of the Etxepare Basque Institute at the university.

The fair, that promotes international mobility and gives visibility to languages worldwide, says goodbye again after three busy days, until next year.
