The FIAP, International Federation of Photographic Art,  has just awarded  a work by the photographer Iñaki San Martin Soarte at the Marmaris International Photography Festivalcontest, in Turkey.  The photograph, entitled  Txikian Haundia, taken in the festivities of San Bartolomé in Elgoibar, won the Bronze Medal.

The image was taken by Soarte last August 25 and has been awarded in the category of free digital photography and black and white style. The competition also selected for the contest a second job by the Basque  photographer, although finally just one out of the two was awarded. The first pizes have been given to authors from India, Turkey, Iran, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

This is not the first time that Soarte is recognized internationally, but, as the photographer noted to the Barren magazine, it was different this time: "This festivity  is a very special day for all the people from Elgoibar, and with this award the Txiki Eguna party will be known in many places,  among other things, because there will be an exhibition with the awards works in January”. Soarte has also pointed to the magazine that part of the award belongs to the Mauxitxa txaranga, largely responsible for making the Txiki Eguna so special.
