The Mission of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament visits the Etxepare Basque Institute in Donostia

The Mission of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament composed of eight MEPs that are visiting San Sebastian until Friday, have had the opportunity to meet the project and the headquarters of the Etxepare Basque Institute today.
The Director of the Institute, Aizpea Goenaga, and Mari Jose Olaziregi, Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of the Basque language, presented the mission and lines of action of the Etxepare to the group, and lead a lively dialogue with the visitors, who made numerous questions about the Basque language and culture and the international dissemination work carried out by the Institute.
The delegation was headed by the President of the Commission, Silvia Costa (S & D) and also composed by Santiago Fisas (PPE), Yana Toom (ALDE) and Zdzislaw Krasnodebski (ECR). In addition, some other members joined the delegation: other MEPs as Inés Ayala Sender (S&D), Maria Teresa Giménez Barbat (ALDE), Izaskun Bilbao (ALDE) and Ernest Maragall (Greens / ALE) and several advisers and members of the Secretariat of the Commission and of the Information Office of the European Parliament in Madrid.
