The short film Homeland takes part at the "Ikuska" festival
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
Ikuska, The XVI Short Film Show of Pasaia, is being held from 15 to 23 November in Trintxerpe, and the short film Homeland, sponsored by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Surfilmfestibal Donostia, is this year among the participants.
The short was screened yesterday, November 18, and on June 11 a special pass for the students of the euskategis (Basque language schools) of the district Oarsoaldea was organized. These students will be asked to vote for the Mintzalagun award, and all this and the other awards will be announced at the closing ceremony on November 22 (19:00 Trintxerpe Mayoral Tenure).
Homeland is a reflection on the culture and the Basque language from the perspective of American famous surf movie director Cyrus Sutton. The documentary, which has been exhibited in various surf film festivals worldwide, and in the London Spanish Film Festival, is guided by the waves of the Bay of Biscay to visit unforgettable landscapes, cliffs, remote hamlets ... and singularly reflect the atmosphere of Basque culture today.
