Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
The literary cafe Spotkanie Literackie became a Basque Literature meeting point in Poznan (Poland) yesterday. Amaia Donés, reader of Basque Language and Literature at the University of Poznan brought her students together in this well-known cultural venue to participate in a literature workshop devoted to the study od the work “Katu jendea” by Eider Rodriguez, with the participation of the author herself. The students made the most of the occasion and conversed with the author and read and analyzed some of her texts in Basque Language and in Polish.
Right after the workshop Eider Rodriguez and the pianist Juantxo Zeberio offered the literature and music recital “Hazia (The Seed)”, with the help in the intepretación of the writer and translator Barbara Stawicka.
And the Basque Literary Spring Basque in Poland goes on: the Basque repesentación has travelled to Gdansk today, where the will perform another reading and music show at the Plama Culture Centre.
Finally, they will move to Warsaw on the weekend, where they will participate in closing program of congress on literature organised by the University of Warsaw (April 24-27). Within this program, Eider Rodriguez and Mari Jose Olaziregi will offer one conference each: the first one under the title “The trauma of the frozen fellow”; the second one about the relationship between the current Basque literature and the Basque conflict: "The conflict of the writing and the rewriting of the identity: analysis of the novels of Basque women writers that tackle the Basque conflict". The final touch of the congress will be one new recital of Rodriguez and Zeberio, with the reading and music of “Hazia”.
