Tokyo International Film Festival: Basque Window

The Tokyo International Film Festival has announced that it will include five Basque films in its line-up. This Basque Window is the outcome of a partnership between the Etxepare Basque Institute and the TIFF, together with the San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Basque Secretary-General of Foreign Action. The Basque Window showcased in Tokyo is part of the Euskadi Japan 2023 programme.

The Tokyo International Film Festival, one of Asia’s leading film festivals and one of the world’s most emblematic, will be held from 23 October to 1 November in the Japanese capital. The Basque Window, which will host five Basque films directed by women, is programmed in the World Focus section, dedicated to showcasing films that reflect current trends in global cinema.

Basque cinema cocktail
The Etxepare Basque Institute will organise a presentation of the Basque Window on October 30th in Tokyo within the framework of the Tokyo International Film Festival. The aim of this event will be to present the Basque Window ´Spotlight: Basque Cinema´ and to be a meeting point between the Basque and international film industries. This event is part of the Euskadi-Japan 2023 multi-sectoral initiative, the Basque Government´s programme that seeks to strengthen relations between the Basque Country and Japan and create new projects and collaborations.
