Université Sorbonne Nouvelle: Elena Odriozola

To mark the International Day of the Basque Language, the Galtzagorri association joins the Etxepare Basque Institute and Paris’s Sorbonne Nouvelle University in organising a talk and colloquium entitled ‘Elena Odriozola: Tradición y Juego’, in which the accomplished Basque illustrator will present her work.

The event will take place on 2 December at 12:00 at the university. Participants will include Amaia Hennebutte, president of Galtzagorri, Gustavo Puerta, children´s literary critic and writer, Teresa Larruzea, lecturer in Basque and Basque culture at the university, and the illustrator herself.

The talk will be given in Spanish and French. Gustavo Puerta will ask questions and Elena Odriozola will answer, while images of the author´s work are projected. Amaia Hennebutt will give a brief introductory talk on the situation of children´s and young people´s literature in the Basque Country.
