Video-interview to piano player Josu Okiñena and Amaia Gabantxo about Basque music

2015/04/13

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

The great Basque piano player Josu Okiñena visited Chicago within the Koldo Mitxelena Chair program. While he was there, Pianoforte Foundation interviewed the artist, asking about his work and about Basque music. Amaia Gabantxo, reader of Basque language and culture of the Etxepare Basque Institute of the University of Chicago, also takes part in the video-report, introducing Okiñena and Basque music.

At the video-report lead by George Lepaw - International Beethoven Project- we can see the pianis performing in life, and hear his explanations about his concert dedicated to Aita Donostia. Of course, Basque music has a leading role through the entire interview.

Enjoy it!
