World Poetry Day: Leire Bilbao

On 21 and 22 March, writer Leire Bilbao will take part in the activities organised for International Poetry Day by the Italian universities Ca´ Foscari Venezia and Università di Bologna. She will join Etxepare Basque Institute language lecturer Iñaki Alfaro on both occasions.

On 21 March, an all-day programme, the ´Giornata mondiale della poesia - Le poetiche del corpo nella letteratura contemporanea catalana e basca´, is on the agenda at Università Ca´ Foscari Venezia. The symposiums will be held in Basque, Catalan, Italian and English in room 0F of San Basilio Università and in room 21 of San Sebastiano Università. At 11:45 am, Leire Bilbao will be the first to speak, together with writer Lucia Pietrelli, moderated by Iñaki Alfaro and Catalan lecturer Paula Marqués.

At 3:00 pm, Alfaro and Marqués will give a translation workshop. The talks and workshops will be held in person and online via Zoom.

The following day at 12:00 in Sala Convegni at the University of Bologna, Leire Bilbao will be in dialogue with Dr Meritxell Matas in Bilbao. The event can also be followed in real time through the following link.
