Zinebi and the Etxepare Institute bring Basque cinema to Montevideo

The documentary Film Festival of Bilbao, ZINEBI, and the Etxepare Basque Institute have worked together with the Cinemateca Uruguaya, to organize a Basque Cinema exhibition in Montevideo, starting today and since Sunday.

The program, entitled “Memoria (s) y Futuro (s)“, gathers 8 films and 8 short films and tries to show the cultural, politic and social current moment of Basque cinema.

The exhibition is curated by Vanesa Fernandez (UPV-EHU), and it includes the latest film productions of ZINEBI: Errautsak, Distantziak and Bilbao-Bizkaia. Exterior-día.

They also will screen some other works as Asier eta biokLasa eta ZabalaHuérfanosEl otro mapa de Abauntz and  ‘Gure sorlekuen bila’. Each screening will include a film and a  short film of consolidated directors as Asier Altuna or Koldo Almandoz, or some other more experimental new directors as  Igone Arreitunandia, Las chicas de Pasaik, MawatreS, Maddi Barber, Cristina Ezquerra or Jesús María Palacios.
