Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
On 7th April, the Official Gazette of the Basque Country published two calls for applications for grants awarded by the Etxepare Basque Institute for the mobility of cultural creators. The deadline for applications is now open. The first call is aimed at supporting the mobility of creators in the visual and plastic arts, music, dance, and theatre. The second is for travel grants for creators in the film and literature sectors.
The call for mobility grants for creators in the visual and plastic arts, music, dance and theatre adheres to the same changes introduced year as a result of the pandemic and travel restrictions.
Funding has been increased €50,000 to a total of €432,000. The aim of this aid is to strengthen the position of Basque culture and creativity outside the geographical area of the Basque language, to reinforce its presence and visibility and to promote networking with international cultural stakeholders (tours, seasons, exhibitions, competitions, events, etc.). This amount will be used to cover the costs of travel, editing, production, stage design, transport of materials, food and lodging.
The grants will be allocated as follows: plastic and visual arts will receive €75,000; music, €140,000; dance, €81,000; and theatre, €136,000.
Funding for travel grants for creators in the film and literature sectors is €20,000 (€2,000 more than last year). The deadline for applications is 31 October.
Individuals or legal entities residing or with registered offices in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country are eligible for all these grants. Furthermore, if the work is performed in the Basque language, individuals or legal entities with residence in the geographical area of the Basque language, i.e., based in Navarra or the French Basque Country, may also apply.
