A Basque poetry anthology in Italian, availabe on the net by Danilo Manera

A Basque poetry anthology translated into Italian, entitled Il giardino dei sensi risvegliati- Antologia di sei poeti baschi contemporanei, will be published. It gathers texts by Bernardo Atxaga, Joseba Sarrionandia, Rikardo Arregi, Miren Agur Meabe, Kirmen Uribe and Harkaitz Cano. The volume has been translated by Danilo Manera, professor at the University of Milan, and Roberta Gozzi, famous translator, and you can download it for free at the website of the magazine Tintas, published by the University.

Based on the poetry anthology by Lourdes Otaegi of the Etxepare Basque Institute and writers who have made and are making their mark in the Basque poetry, Manera has created a heartfelt translations in Italian. This is not an unfamiliar role for the writer, who already has translated, among others, the writings Linguae Vasconum Primitiae (Basque Academy, Bilbao, 1995); In Forma di Parole (1987), together with X. Kintana; or Euskararen eta euskal literaturaren ibilbidea (Rome, 2001) by X Kintana.

In the epilogue of this publication the author has mentioned the Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of Etxepare Basque Institute, Mari Jose Olaziregi.
