ADUR and RTZ to take part in SUNS Europe 2026

ADUR and RTZ will take part in SUNS Europe this year, with the support of Etxepare Euskal Institutua. The festival, dedicated to music and artistic creation in Europe’s minority languages, will take place in October in Udine and other locations across the Friuli region. Etxepare Euskal Institutua has worked with SUNS Europe for several years to strengthen the international presence of Basque-language creation.

ADUR will perform on 3 October, while RTZ will take the stage on 9 October. The two concerts will bring different approaches to contemporary Basque-language music to Friuli. Further details on ADUR’s concert are available here, and information on RTZ’s performance can be found here.

ADUR

Bilbao-based duo ADUR combine Basque folklore and contemporary music through a rave-punk sound driven by heavy sub-bass, punk guitars and shouted vocals. This year they will present their first full-length album, PUNK < RAVE.

RTZ

After a one-year break, RTZ return with EDEN, a new sixteen-track album exploring the duality between paradise and hell through the imagery of the Garden of Eden. While rooted in rap, the project also opens up to a range of other musical genres.

The album features Amaia Hiriart (HABIA) on cello, Haize Carricaburu (MEZKLAA) on vocals and piano, and Romain Larregaine (TITAN) on electric guitar, as well as a collaboration with Breton group Plouf & Foen.

SUNS Europe

SUNS Europe was launched in 2009 as a gathering of minority-language communities from the Alpine region. Since 2015, it has developed into a European platform for exchange between music, performing arts, film and literature created in minority languages. The festival places contemporary creation at its core, approaching these cultures not simply as traditions or folklore, but as living and continually evolving forms of expression.

Etxepare Euskal Institutua has collaborated with SUNS Europe for several years. Recent editions have featured Basque artists including Verde Prato, MICE and Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado.
