The Basque writer Arantxa Urretabizkaia will present the translation into Bulgarian of her novel "Koaderno gorria" in the cities of Sofia and Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The novel was translated by María Pachkova as part of the ´Itzultzaile Berriak- New Translators´ programme promoted by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Donostia 2016. The programme brought translators from other countries to the Basque Country to learn the language and in this way, promote the translation of Basque literature.
On Tuesday, March 27, Urretabizkaia will give a talk to Basque studies students at the University of Sofia. That same afternoon, she will host a gathering at the Peroto cultural centre in Sofia, open to the public. The following day, she will present the book at a meeting with the students of the University of Plovdiv.
The event will take place in Sofia on the 27th, moderated by book critic Marín Bodakov with participation by the translator, Maria Pachkova, and in Plovdiv on the 28th moderated by the teacher Veselka Nenkova.
The presentations have been organized by the translator and the Cervantes Institute of Bulgaria, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute.
