Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

On 11 July, thirteen Euskara and Basque culture assistants gathered at Tabakalera in Donostia for a meeting organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute. Now in its eighth year, the event welcomes anyone who teaches Euskara and Basque culture in the university network supported by the Institute. Irene Larraza, director of the Etxepare Basque Institute, and Monika Madinabeitia, head of Promotion and Dissemination of Euskara, welcomed all the participants. As in previous years, the meeting aimed to encourage the exchange of experiences and mutual learning.

The day began with a video training session led by researcher and professor Beñat Flores. In addition to offering tools for editing videos solely with a mobile phone, teachers abroad also had the opportunity to produce their own videos.

Members of the Etxepare Basque Institute also presented the new features offered in the language assistant programmes for the coming academic year. Among other things, they announced the details of the Euskara Promotion and Dissemination Department and its network of language assistants.

Afterward, readers were invited to a small fair organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute at its offices. The event provided an opportunity to purchase publications on Basque language and culture, which could be very valuable for teachers in their classes.
