The 2017 edition of the Miami Book Fair is already underway, and this year will be attended by the Basque author Yolanda Arrieta. The fair organizes a diverse program each year that brings together writers and literary agents from around the world in Miami. This year the fair will take place from November 12 to 19.
On November 18 the fair will feature an all-day seminar on the challenges of literature for children and young adults. In this context, Arrieta will participate in two different parts of the seminar: first, she will be part of a panel on children’s literature, and will present her book Argiaren alaba. The following day, she will participate in the De viva voz section of the fair. In this section, the participating authors read excerpts from their works.
Organized by Miami Dade College, the Miami Book Fair is one of the most important international book fairs. Every year it brings together around 300 writers who take part in different presentations, round tables and colloquia. The aim is to encourage reading and writing, and to publicize the works of the participating authors. With the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute, Basque authors participate every year in the Miami Book Fair.
