Basquemusic.eus website presented at Mercat de Música Viva de Vic

‘Basque. Music.’ is a joint initiative of the Basque Government in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute and Musika Bulegoa aimed at raising the international profile of music made in the Basque Country.

Mercat de Música Viva (MMVV) is currently underway in Vic, Catalunya. This annual meeting place for all music industry professionals was chosen as the venue to present the website basquemusic.eus, a tool to promote the Basque music scene abroad and further opportunities for all involved in the music industry.

The content of the platform is English. It serves as a showcase for Basque artists working in the international circuit, both those who have received grants for international mobility promoted by Etxepare Basque Institute in recent years and for artists who have taken part in music fairs in different parts of the world. The portal also features a network of Basque companies and industry professionals. The website is very dynamic, giving visitors access to the network of Basque music professionals, as well as update the profiles of Basque artists and professionals working internationally.

Throughout the year Basque. Music. takes part in a number of professional fairs and tradeshows, organising concerts, promoting meetings between professionals, and signing agreements. This new website allows us to take a step forward in spreading the word of Basque music internationally. Basque. Music. is also part of the ‘BASQUE.’ brand, a project that seeks to raise the international profile of the Basque language, culture and creation, and to highlight Basque cultural and creative industries.
