BIME, the largest international gathering of music industry professionals, will be held in Bilbao from 26 to 28 October 2022. This year marks the 10th edition.
Palacio Euskalduna will be the venue for the live events but the entire programme can be followed online at bime.net.
To facilitate dialogue between industry players, share knowledge and promote music created and produced in the Basque Country, a variety of activities have been organised, promoted by the Basque. Music. platform.
For three days at BIME PRO, Basque. Music. will have a stand at the service of Basque music professionals. This space will be available to show their work to other industry professionals and hold meetings.
WEDNESDAY 26 OCTOBER
A physical and online panel, in collaboration with MIE, (association whose purpose is to protect and promote the interests of Basque music industry), will be held at 10:00 am in room 0E 2 – PRO II: ‘Mental health: music industry challenges after the pandemic’. Participants include Iker Bárbara (moderator), Maite Alaña, Olatz Salvador and Rosana Corbacho. The meeting will be used to present a guide to good mental health practices in the music industry created by Musika Bulegoa and designed by Higinia Garay.
From 2:00 to 3:30 pm, a BDCC networking lunch will be held in room 0A for members of Musika Bulegoa and the Basque music industry in general. This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn first-hand about the work of Basque District of Culture & Creativity. Encontro-Topaketa: Portugal & Euskal Herria. In collaboration with Musika Bulegoa, BIME will host a Speedmeeting session at 3:45 pm for Musika Bulegoa members. This session will be an opportunity to meet promoters and learn about concert venues and festivals in Portugal. Registration for this session is available through the BIME PRO platform. Deadline: 19 October.
At 6:00 pm, Basque. Music. will host a welcome reception in the Hall open to all professionals attending the fair.
THURSDAY 27 OCTOBER
In the morning, Live DMA will join forces on its tenth anniversary with Kultura Live to hold two panels.
At 10:00 in room 0E 2 – PRO II, ‘A conversation with live music venues on new audience strategies’. This meeting will introduce the Try-angle project promoted by Live DMA. Panelists include: Ken Veerman (moderator), Kukka Hytönen (Tanssisali Lutakko), Waldo Volmer (Stad Als Podium) and Marine Idir (Petit Bain).
In the same room at 10:55 Live DMA will celebrate its tenth anniversary with the round table discussion: ‘Support your local music scene! 10 years of Live DMA and cooperation across Europe to recognise the cultural value of live music venues, clubs and festivals’. Arkaitz Villar (Musika Bulegoa / Kultura Live), Armando Ruah (ACCES), Ingrid Stroom (Music Estonia), Marc Steens (ClubCircuit) and Joana Lourenço (Circuito Live) will take part in this discussion.
At 4:00 pm, there will be a private networking session on BIME Bogotá and the Colombian music industry for Musika Bulegoa members. To register contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of the BIME LIVE programme, another ‘Basque. Music.’ initiative will present a showcase of the groups Idoia, MICE, and Merina Gris. Starting at 8:00 pm on Stage Live. Free admission until full capacity.
FRIDAY 28 OCTOBER
At 10:00 am on the last day of BIME PRO in room 0E 2 - PRO II there will be a discussion entitled ‘Artist´s Statute: New Labour Relations Regime’. Organised by Musikari, participants include Bruno Galindo (moderator), Adriana Moscoso, Eva Moraga and Guillem Arnedo.

Musika Bulegoa will bid farewell to this tenth edition of BIME this evening with support for STEREOROCKS X BIME. A selection of bands will take part in a party hosted by Stereorocks in the Kutxa Beltza hall of Kafe Antzokia.
