15 years bringing Basque language, culture and creativity to the world.

15 years building bridges across countries and cultures, respecting diversity.

The anniversary will be even more special, as it will take place at precisely the place where the first book written in Euskara is kept – the National Library of France (François Mitterrand site). The author of that book, Bernart Etxepare, lends his name to our institution. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

Registration must be submitted no later than November 14th via the following email: etxepare@etxepare.eus

The institutions joining us in this celebration are the Basque Government, the National Library of France, and the Basque Museum of Bayonne.

Ça colle au basque

The 15th anniversary celebration and the international conference ´Minority languages in a French-speaking context: translating, transmitting, transforming´, will be held on November 19th and 20th at Sorbonne Université and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. The event is part of the Etxepare Basque Institute’s ‘Ça colle au basque’ initiative aimed at boosting the presence of Basque language and creativity in French-speaking countries. Celebrating the 15th anniversary at the National Library of France marks a new milestone in the strategy to promote Basque culture internationally and offers an exceptional opportunity to showcase contemporary Basque art in the French-speaking world.
