Thanks to an agreement between the Etxepare Basque Institute and the Aurten Bai Foundation, several international students have the opportunity to come to the Amorebieta barnetegi to live and learn in Basque. Five Chilean students started their winter course yesterday, which will last until the 21st.
Every year, Etxepare and the Aurten bai Foundation sign an agreement to promote the Basque language abroad. Through this agreement, they promote and manage online courses, live-in courses at barnetegis for foreign students, and other activities. The live-in courses run twice a year at the barnetegi in Amorebieta, the busiest one in summer. Five Chilean students have enrolled in the recently started winter course; four are from the University of Chile and one from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
The students will enjoy a three-week stay, with a program that includes morning and afternoon classes, outside activities, board games and movies.
