Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

2014-04-29

The writer Eider Rodriguez and the pianist Juantxo Zeberio have just come back from Poland, where they have been on a music and literature tour, promoted by Etxepare Basque Institute (April 23-27). They performed in Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk and Warsaw with the recital “Hazia (The Seed)”, which mixes literature and music.  They had a warm welcoming and the artists were surprised with the interest that Basque culture and euskera produces in Poland.

In addition, the students of Euskara and Basque Culture of Poznan University carried out a workshop about Eider Rodriguez’s work “Katu Jendea”, where the author herself took part. For sure, they made the most of the opportunity to talk to the writer, who read and analysed some Basque and polish texts with them.

To conclude, Eider Rodriguez and Mari Jose Olaziregi offered lectures within the literature congress “The slept voice?”, organized by Warsaw University. Rodriguez talked about “The trauma of the frozen friend”; Olaziregi got into detail about the relation between the Basque conflict and the actual Basque literature.  Finally, the congress was closed with Rodriguez and Zeberio’s recital, “Hazia”.
