Five Basque Writers in the International Month of the Author Festival, in five countries
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
The literary festival Month of Author Reading (Mac, in Czech acronym) will take place in five cities in Central Europe. Starting next July 1, the festival will travel, over thirty-one days, from Brno (Czezh Reupblic) to Wroclaw (Poland), Ostrava, Kosice (Slovakia) and Lvov (Ukraine). Thus, during each day of the festival, there will be a literary summit of the highest level in five cities at once.
Thanks to the agreement signed with the Etxepare Basque Institute, five Basque artists will attend the festival: Harkaitz Cano, Miren Agur Meabe, Rikardo Arregi, Karmele Jaio and Eider Rodriguez.
Each year a country is invited to the festival, and, with the intention of honoring the fourth anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the most recognized Spanish author worldwide, this time Spain is the guest. In total, 31 authors of different genres (theater, poetry, fiction ......) will be involved, and together they will create a publication in Czech: "Library Month Author Readings".
