Gaztemundu program 2014, about Basque dance
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
One more year, the participants in the Gaztemundu program have already come to Euskadi. This time, the stay organized by the Secretary General for External Action of the Basque Government focuses on dance, and the participants are dancers and dance teachers from all over the world. The expert dancer and dance teacher Oier Araolaza is in charge of the coordination.
Gaztemundu offers the opportunity to know the Basque reality closely, making a two week stay with covered expenses. During those 15 days, the participants take part in various organized activities: working days, discussion sessions, visits... The requirements: to be older than 18, no previous participation in the program since 2003 and experience as a dancer or dance teacher. Applicants recorded a video giving a class of traditional Basque dance.
Participants arrived on July 9 and in the reception event in Vitoria-Gasteiz they already danced! They will be here until the 20th, and they certainly have the opportunity to enjoy Basque culture firsthand.
