The biennial Tanzmesse international contemporary dance fair is on from 31 August to 3 September in Düsseldorf, Germany. The ‘BASQUE. DANCE.’ stand will once again have its place at Europe’s leading contemporary dance event.

‘BASQUE. DANCE.’ is a brand used by the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Basque Government and Euskal Herriko Dantza Profesionalen Elkartea (the association of Basque dance professionals, ADDE) to raise the international profile of dance creation in the Basque Country. Visitors can find ‘BASQUE. DANCE.’ at stand number 62.

Although year there are no Basque companies in the official programme, six representatives of Basque dance companies and institutions will take part in the international meeting and in promoting international outreach for Basque companies through the ADDE association, the D8 Creation Factory, the Metamorphosis Dance company, La Fundición dance hall, and the Etxepare Basque Institute. A catalogue featuring 46 dance companies and a BASQUE.DANCE catalogue containing information on associations and institutions in the sector have been drawn up.

There will also be a presentation of Basque professionals and the dance ecosystem on 1 September, at 12:00 noon, in an event organised in collaboration with Catalan Dance, Institut Balearic and Dance from Spain.
