Korrika Munduan video contest: vote for your favourite!

The 24th Korrika ‘fun run’ will make its way through Euskadi from Tardets to Bilbao from 19 to 29 March. As part of the Korrika Munduan initiative, the event in support of the Basque language will once again reach beyond the Basque Country to include the Euskal Etxeak-Basque Centres around the world, the Basque language teachers and students from the university network, and the Basque diaspora.

In collaboration with AEK, the Etxepare Basque Institute will pass the virtual Korrika baton to the universities in the Etxepare lectureship network and to the Euskal Etxeak around the world. Among other initiatives, both entities have launched a video contest for two groups: members of Basque Centres worldwide, and students and teachers from the international university network of the Etxepare Basque Institute.

The deadline to submit videos for the competition was extended to February 25th, and we’ve already received several videos supporting the Basque language. Since February 27th, you can watch the videos on AEK´s YouTube channel and vote for your favourite by clicking the “Like” button.

The two videos with the most votes or ‘likes’ – one in the Euskal Etxeak category and another in the international universities category – will each win a prize. Both the creator of the most voted video submitted by universities and the creator of the most voted video in the Euskal Etxeak category will win two 75-hour online courses, to be completed in three months. The courses can be replaced with materials of equal value, including shipping costs.

You can vote for your favourite video until 10:00 (GMT+1) on March 10th. The winners in each category will be announced the next day.
