From March 30 to April 9 the 20th edition of Korrika, the foot race held twice a year in support of the Basque language, will cross the Basque Country from Otxandio to Pamplona. But its torch will travel around the world.

As a result of the collaboration between the Etxepare Basque Institute and Korrika, “mini-Korrikas" will be organized among the Institute’s readerships all over the world. In addition, students who are learning the Basque language and culture will join the Korrika to participate in a contest.

They have sent videos echoing the message of the 20th Korrika, #BatZuk, and showing us different places in their cities. You can already vote for your favorite by clicking like on YouTube. The winning video-maker will be given free residency at a barnetegi (a full-immersion school and house where students live and breathe in Basque). It’s the perfect opportunity to learn Euskera and gain first-hand insight on Basque culture.

You can view all the videos at the following link. Vote for your favorite before March 22!
