Literaktum: 10 Years of Itzultzaile Berriak

The Itzultzaile Berriak (New Translators) programme, promoted by the Etxepare Basque Institute, marks its tenth anniversary. Four translators who took part in the first edition in 2016 —Barbara Pregelj (Slovenia), Laura Liubinavičiūtė (Lithuania), Katarzyna Sosnowska (Poland) and Maria Pachkova (Bulgaria)— are returning to the Basque Country. On 9 November they will meet writer Juan Kruz Igerabide as part of Literaktum.

Itzultzaile Berriak: ten years on

During their stay, the four translators will work on texts by Juan Kruz Igerabide in collaboration with the author. At the Literaktum event, they will discuss their experiences translating and promoting Basque literature since 2016. Igerabide will share his experience of bringing his work to international audiences.

Literaktum

The Literaktum literary festival takes place in Donostia from 9 to 22 November. The bilingual event will be held at the Ernest Lluch Cultural Centre at 7 pm. Admission is free, subject to capacity. Organised by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Donostia Kultura. More event information.
