On Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, the annual meeting of Basque language teachers from European Basque centres (euskal etxeak) took place in Berlin, organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute and the Gernika Kulturverein Basque Center of Berlin.

The main topic discussed was "How to strengthen conversation sessions with the materials we use." Under the coordination of Kinku Zinkunegi, head of the Euskara Munduan programme at the Etxepare Basque Institute, a total of 12 teachers from around ten Basque centres gathered, including those from Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Valladolid, Mallorca, Bordeaux, Paris, Brussels, and Berlin.

During this academic year, Basque will be taught in most of the European Basque centers. The meeting also reviewed Ingura, the new online Basque learning tool from HABE.

The event took place on Friday afternoon and throughout Saturday, addressing topics previously proposed by the participants. Additionally, as is customary, each teacher presented and shared the work done in their Basque centre over the past year. New resources, such as Ingura, as well as other educational materials, were also introduced. The details of next year’s meeting, which will be held in Valencia on October 17 and 18, organized by the Laurak Bat Basque-Navarrese Centre, were also decided.
