The exhibition on Basque traditional dance SOKA will be displayed in Biarritz

From September 11 to October 11, 2015 the traveling exhibition SOKA euskal dantzaren urratsetan will be open on the porch of Saint Eugenia of Biarritz, produced by EKE(Euskal Kultur Erakundea) and with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute, among others . This exhibition that is composed of content in four languages (Basque, Spanish, English and French), offers different material from the world of Basque traditional dance. This summer it has been displayed in the Basque Festival Jaialdi of Boise.

For example, more than 400 illustrations can be appreciated in SOKA (collections of photos and images, testimonies, sounds ...). They will also display video creations on the aesthetics of dance or it’s social side. It addition to that, the audience will enjoy a part of the work “Elekta” by EKE, that brings together recordings of testimonies about dance.

On the other hand, with the aim of bringing the content to the public, touch screens, large-format televisions, numerical tables, computers and video projectors will be installed. Furthermore, some material of the Basque Film Archive- Filmoteca Vasca will be displayed.

SOKA is produced by EKE, together with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and Donostia 2016. Its aim is to publicize the Basque traditional dance.
