The Japanese translation of Mussche, finalist in the Best Translation Award in Japan

The Japanese translation of the novel "Mussche" by Kirmen Uribe, translated from the orginal text in Basque by Nami Kaneko and subsidized by Etxepare, has been chosen as one of five finalists in the Best Translation Award in Japan (Best Translation Award). This prize was created in 2015, so it will be given for the second time. The Jury will announce the winner on April 11.
A previous shortlist of 15 books was chosen by the readers, that voted for their 10 favourites, and the Jury, composed by five translators, who chose 5 more books. The final list includes two books published by Hakisui Sha, publisher awarded last year; one of them is “Mussche”.
These are the finalists:
