The Summer Course organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute and the UPV-EHU Excellence in Basque Studies was held on July 7-8 at the Miramar Palace of Donostia. The course provides training to the current and future readers that teach Basque language and culture in universities around the world, and as every year, has been a meeting point for international experts.

After the presentation of the director of the course Mari Jose Olaziregi, the Professor of Universität Leipzig Carsten Sinner opened the course with a lecture on "Translation Studies and minority languages". He was followed by Ivan Igartua (UPV-EHU) - "Euskara among the world languages"- and the morning session finished with Elizabete Manterola Agirrezabalaga (UPV-EHU) who spoke about translation in the current Basque culture.

In the afternoon, however, it was the turn of two readers of the Etxepare Institute: Diana Palenzuela of the University of Chicago -“Bazen behin a girl whose face was a white as snow: Ipuin tradizionalen bidez euskara irakasteko abentura”- and Oxel Uribetxeberria Lete from the universities of Szeged and Elte - "Teaching Basque language and culture at hungarian universities”.
