Itziar Okariz (Donostia / San Sebastián, 1965) is an artist whose work has been acclaimed both nationally and internationally. Through this monographic exhibition, Tabakalera highlights its artistic journey, featuring works from previous eras and presenting new pieces created for the occasion. This exhibition, curated by Beatriz Herráez, is the third chapter in a project that started at the Kunsthaus Baselland (Basel) and, after passing through the CA2M (Madrid), will end at Tabakalera.
The exhibition brings together 15 works: a visual and sound tour of over two decades of the artist’s work, including two new pieces. Okariz does not present it as a retrospective, instead saying that the essence of the exhibition is to talk about the misunderstandings of the works.
