The workshop "The writer and his/her translators" in San Sebastian and Paris, with the book Erraiak by Daniele Sarriugarte

With the purpose of promoting and disseminating Basque literature translation into other languages, the EIZIE association (Association of Translators, Correctors and Interpreters of Basque Language )has organized a new edition of the workshop “The writer and his/her translators”, for what has been sponsored by the Etxepare Basque Institute.
In this edition, the workshop will focus on the first book of the writer and translator Danele Sarriugarte: Erraiak (Undercity). Three translators will work closely with the author in the workshop: Edurne Alegría will translate it into French, Miren Iriarte and the author will do the Spanish translation and Estibaliz Lizaso will be responsible for the translation into Catalan. Elizabete Manterola will coordinate the workshop.
The first part of the workshop will be held in Donostia, in the headquarters of EIZIE, on 20 and 21 October. On October 22, a public meeting will be held in the library of Donostia Garoa Kultur Lab, where the author and translators will share their experiences with the audience, while presenting the texts in a multilingual reading.
The second part will take place in Paris on October 24, at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3, with the collaboration of the Basque readership. After a brief presentation on the Basque translation by the reader Miren Ibarluzea, the participants will present the workshop and its conclusions, through a multilingual reading.
