The conference on Unity in Diversity? Culture, Heritage and Identity in Europe will be held in  Antwerp on 15 and 16 April.

The aim of the conference is to delve deeper into the complex connections between the concepts of culture, heritage, and identity within Europe. By fostering an open and stimulating debate, together with the Flanders Heritage Agency, the participants will discuss the versatility of these concepts and map out the connections between them. Central to these discussions is the question of how culture and heritage contribute to the formation and expression of identity, and what challenges and opportunities they pose. It will be a meeting place for thought-provoking conversations and debate between high-ranking professionals from renowned European cultural and heritage institutions.

This conference is hosted by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event will have Basque representation as part of the Vlaanderen – Baskenland cultural connection (#Flenbasque). This two-way project has a twofold objective: to unite Flemish and Basque cultural stakeholders to exchange experiences and insights, and to collectively create tangible cultural initiatives aimed at promoting the quality and innovative aspects of creativity in both regions.
