Basque poets Oihana Arana, Itxaro Borda and Angel Erro will take part in the ninth edition of QLit, the Queer Literature Festival, taking place in Barcelona on 15 and 16 October. Their participation is supported by a collaboration agreement between the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Basque Writers´ Association (EIE) and the Association of Catalan Language Writers (AELC).

On 16 October at 6:30 p.m., the three Basque poets will join Catalan poets Ria Dueñas, Biel Mesquida and Martí Sales for a poetry reading entitled Poètiques queer d´anada i tornada (Queer Poetics: Back and Forth). The event will also feature music by Anna Pantinat. The poetry reading will take place at La Bonne – Centre de Cultura de Dones Francesca Bonnemaison (7 Carrer de Sant Pere Més Baix, Barcelona). Admission is free, and no advance registration is required.

QLit: connecting languages and literary traditions

Founded in 2018, the QLit festival promotes literary creation, reflection and dialogue around queer literature. In 2025, the Poètiques queer d´anada i tornada poetry reading brought together poets from Catalan-speaking territories and Slovenia. This year, the participation of Basque poets will continue this exchange between languages and literary traditions.
