BASQUE. MUSIC. at Folk Canada Conference: Besaide

The Basque band Besaide will take part in the upcoming edition of the Folk Canada Conference, which will be held in Ontario (Canada) from October 14 to 18, thanks to a showcase organised by the BASQUE.MUSIC. platform.

Folk Canada Conference is the leading gathering of Canada´s folk music community. Every year, it brings together artists, programmers, media representatives and festival organisers from around the world, providing a space for exchange, networking and the international promotion of new musical projects.

In this edition, Besaide will perform a showcase on October 15 at 8:40 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel. The band was selected by the festival´s artistic team from among the applications submitted through its open call.

Besaide

Drawing on the rhythms, melodies and traditional verses of Basque folk music, Besaide has developed a musical approach that combines tradition and experimentation. The hurdy-gurdy and alboka share the spotlight with instruments such as the bouzouki, saz and daff, connecting Basque musical traditions with those of other cultures to create a distinctive sound.

BASQUE.MUSIC.

BASQUE.MUSIC. is a platform dedicated to the international promotion of Basque musical creation and the music industry. It is a public-private initiative jointly developed by the Basque Government, the Etxepare Basque Institute and Musika Bulegoa.
