Once again, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Eñe festival will spotlight Basque literature, giving voice to outstanding figures in our literary scene. On this occasion, author Katixa Agirre will curate the ‘Window on Basque Literature’ (Ventana a la literatura vasca), which consists of three events to be held this Saturday, 15 November, at Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Sara Fantova, Uxue Alberdi, Beñat Sarasola
The millennial pleasure
11:30 | Círculo de Bellas Artes
The first generation to live worse than their parents… but also the first to know how to enjoy life. Three authors who, through their fiction, have managed to blend generational joy and sorrow.

Miren Iza (Tulsa), Miren Agur Meabe
Melancholic pleasure
13:30 | Círculo de Bellas Artes
Musical and poetic conversation between Miren Iza (Tulsa) and Miren Agur Meabe. Both artists navigate the melancholic spectrum through their music and poetry, but as Victor Hugo once said, melancholy is the happiness of being sad. Is melancholy a pleasure after all?

Telmo Irureta, Jose Mari Goenaga, Itxaro Borda
Queer pleasures
20:00 | Círculo de Bellas Artes
An intergenerational encounter between actor Telmo Irureta, veteran filmmaker Jose Mari Goenaga—whose latest film, Maspalomas, premiered this autumn—and writer Itxaro Borda, about queer pleasures on screen and in literature: celebration, liberation, discovery, first loves, and late romances.

Eñe festival
