M pour Montréal: Verde Prato + Olaia Inziarte

The ‘M pour Montréal’ festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year from 19 to 22 November, in Montreal, Quebec. The event is one of the top hubs for the Canadian music industry, attracting artists, programmers, media, and festival representatives from around the world every year. Its goal is to create a gathering spot for new artists and international music industry professionals to connect, foster mutual understanding, and strengthen professional relationships.
Basque artists Verde Prato and Olaia Inziarte will offer two showcases in this year’s event. Both were selected by the artistic team at M pour Montréal from among the submissions to the call for applications. Their showcases will take place on the following schedule:
Thursday, November 20:
- 22:00 – 22:30
- Verde Prato
- Venue: Sotterenea, 4848 St-laurent – basement
- 22:00 – 22:30
- Olaia Inziarte
- Venue: Casa del popolo, 4873 St-Laurent
Friday, November 21:
- 10:30 – 11:45
- Olaia Inziarte + Verde Prato
- Venue: Quai des Brumes, 4481 St-Denis
In addition to those performances, a Basque delegation led by the Etxepare Basque Institute will attend one of the most important events in the North American music industry, participating in various professional activities. Among these events, the Etxepare Basque Institute has organised a Basque cocktail party with international programmers and music industry professionals.
Ça colle au basque
The participation of Verde Prato and Olaia Inziarte, along with the organisation of professional activities, are part “Ça colle au basque”, the Etxepare Basque Institute´s initiative to promote Basque culture and creativity in the French-speaking world. This presence at the M pour Montréal festival marks a new step in the strategy to internationalise Basque culture and provides an exceptional opportunity to showcase contemporary Basque creation in the French-speaking world.
Verde Prato
Verde Prato is Ana Arsuaga´s musical project. Her work combines experimental pop, electronic music and a powerful voice. Arsuaga´s discography combines the heartfelt quality of traditional Basque music with a contemporary exploration of sound, crafting intimate and poetic landscapes.
Olaia Inziarte
Basque musician Olaia Inziarte began her solo career in 2022 and in recent years has made a name for herself on the contemporary Basque music scene. Her style combines dark pop, rock and electronica, all driven by a unique voice full of sensitivity.
