Maison de la Littérature de Quebec will be hosting Basque literary and oral arts from October 8th to 10th, celebrating minority languages and cultures. Poet and writer Itxaro Borda and creator Odei Barroso will be the two guest artists, made possible through the collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute.

Cercle Gabriel García Márquez

Cercle Gabriel García Márquez hosts a series of lectures and discussions aimed at creating connections between Latin American and Québécois culture and literature.

Itxaro Borda and Odei Barroso will participate in the event on October 8th, focusing on minority languages and creative development. The two Basque artists, specialising in literature and oral tradition, will join forces to discuss the role of minority languages in fostering both oral and written artistic expression within a minority culture.

Cercle Gabriel García Márquez was founded in 2008 as a partnership between Casa latino-américaine de Québec and the Canadian Institute of Quebec.

Vendredis de poésie

An evening of poetry is also scheduled at the Maison de la Littérature de Quebec on October 10th, featuring Itxaro Borda and Odei Barroso. Les Vendredis de poésie (Poetry Fridays) organizes lively gatherings that are simple, spontaneous, sometimes humorous, and often full of surprises. After the first part, dedicated to guest poets, the stage will be open for a free session of readings, performances and interpretations.
