Residencia Literaria 1863, A Coruña: applications now open for authors in Basque

The Etxepare Basque Institute, in partnership with 1863 Literary Residence, has opened the 2026 call for applications for a one-month literary residence in A Coruña. This opportunity is open to authors who write in Basque. This initiative, set for November 2026, is designed to foster literary creation in a vibrant and inspiring cultural setting.
The call for entries is open to writers aged 18 or over who have published at least one book, in any literary genre, written in Basque.
Applications can be submitted from 23 June to 30 July 2026 and must include a CV, a literary project, a portfolio of previous work and a letter of motivation. You can find the terms and conditions and additional details about the call for applications here (in Spanish).
In the previous edition, Basque writer Nerea Ibarzabal Salegi was selected to take part in the Residencia 1863 literary residency.
