Artistas en ruta (Artists on the Road), organised by AIE (the Spanish agency for the management of intellectual property rights for musicians), has announced the Basque groups that will be performing live in different venues around Spain in the second half of 2026: Sara Zozaya, Arima Soul and Bengo.

AIEnRUTa-Artists is a programme aimed at promoting live music and introducing audiences to new talent. It achieves its goal by organising a series of concerts throughout Spain over the course of the year. Many well-known artists have participated in the programme, including Izaki Gardenak, Marte Lasarte, Süne, Hilario Rodeiro, Mirua, Silitia, Mikel Azpiroz, Nakar, Rüdiger, TOC, Aldakan, Capsula, Ezezez, J Martina, Amorante, Hofe x 4:40, Merina Gris, Neomak, Airu, Kulto Kultibo, Verde Prato, Amak, Lukiek, Ezpalak, Bulego, Idoia, Dupla, Olatz Salvador and Zetak.

Each year AIEnRuta consists of two rounds: the first from January to June, and the second from September to December. The selection of the groups is made by a committee comprising journalists, theatre programmers, and cultural professionals from all over Spain. Sara Zozaya, Arima Soul and Bengo will perform in the second round of the programme.

The Etxepare Basque Institute works in partnership with AIEnRUTa-Artistas to secure the participation of Basque musicians in both rounds of the concert circuit (January-June and September-December).

Sara Zozaya

Sara Zozaya is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Donostia-San Sebastián whose distinctive musical universe blends pop, folk and subtle electronic textures. Her work is characterised by carefully crafted atmospheres, an intimate vocal style and a strong emotional depth. After establishing her artistic identity with ´Nara´ (2023), she released the EP ´attä´ in 2025, an introspective work that explores more ambient and electronic soundscapes. Through this new project, centred on transformation, farewell and personal change, Sara Zozaya opens a new creative chapter while reaffirming her place as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Basque music.

Arima Soul

Arima Soul is a musical project founded in Zarautz by Mikel Unzurrunzaga “Makala” and Lidia Insausti. Their music brings together soul, R&B, funk and jazz influences in an original and contemporary repertoire performed in Basque. Following the release of their debut album, ´Arima Soul - 1´ (2022), they returned in 2025 with ´Gaua´, a record that expands their sonic universe and further develops their blend of groove, contemporary soul and funk traditions. With a strong musical identity and an energetic live performance, Arima Soul has established itself as one of the most distinctive acts on today’s Basque music scene.

Bengo

Bengo is the artistic project of musician Aitor Bengoetxea from Oiartzun. Combining contemporary pop, electronic music and urban influences, he creates songs that resonate with the emotions and experiences of a new generation. He released his debut album, ´Bizirik´, in 2023, followed by ´BELHARRA´ in 2024, a record that marked a significant step forward in his artistic development and broadened his audience. Through carefully crafted melodies, relatable lyrics and a distinctive sound, Bengo has become one of the most promising emerging voices in contemporary Basque music.
