2026/04/21

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

The call for submissions for KIMUAK, a public programme aimed at promoting, showcasing and distributing Basque short films, is now open. The films selected through this process will be grouped under the title KIMUAK 2026 and will be promoted in specialised circuits and venues both in the Basque Country and internationally. As in past years, the producers of the selected works will receive a cash prize to cover distribution services and related expenses.

Applicants may submit one or more short films, each no longer than 30 minutes, provided they were completed by 1st June 2025.

The call for submissions is open to short films in Euskara produced anywhere within the Basque-speaking region; however, productions from the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country may be in any language.

Films must not have been commercially released and may have been submitted to up to 20 festivals.

The deadline for submissions is 15 May. The terms and conditions of the call, along with the application form, are available on the website kimuak.basqueaudiovisual.eus.
