Thessaloniki Book Fair: Tere Irastortza

Basque literature will be featured in Greece from 7–10 May at the Thessaloniki Book Fair, where writer, poet and translator Tere Irastortza will take part in the fair’s 22nd edition in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute.

The cultural fair, held annually at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and Congress Centre, is one of the country’s most important cultural institutions. Its aim is to introduce visitors to contemporary publications from around the world.

Tere Irastortza will take part in the following activities:

7 May

  • 18:00 – 19:00. Panellist on ‘“Small” Languages – Great Literatures’, a discussion revolving around minority languages and the challenges they face in terms of internationalisation. 

8 May

  • 20:30 – 21:00 | Pavilion 15, Stand 106. Meeting at the stand with the translator of her book into Greek and fellow panellists.
  • 21:00 | Pavilion 15, Stand 106. Presentation of her book ‘Mundua betetzen zenuten’, accompanied by the Greek translator and the other panellists. 

The fair showcases new publications, promotes literary exchange, and fosters networking among international book‑trade professionals. Highlights of the fair include readings and panel discussions, where visitors can debate current literary issues.
