Vlaanderen - Basquenland: Ensemble Kuraia

The collaboration between Ensemble Kuraia and Zvedoliki Ensemble once again offers an opportunity to discover ‘Flenbasque Contemporary Music Exchange’, a contemporary and avant-garde creation from both the Basque Country and Flanders. As part of the Vlaanderen – Basquenland programme, the two ensembles will perform in concert on 21 October at 20:00 in the Witte Zaal at De Singel International Arts Centre in Antwerp.

Ensemble Kuraia

The Bilbao-based Ensemble Kuraia is the resident group of the Kuraia Contemporary Music Conference and the "J.C. Arriaga" Conservatory of Music in Bilbao. Composer María Eugenia Luc, who currently serves as the artistic director, established the ensemble in 1997. The group´s objective is to promote the compositions of contemporary artists while providing the expertise of skilled professionals. Ensemble Kuraia performs regularly at contemporary music events and major festivals in Europe and South America.

Zvezdoliki Ensemble

The chamber music ensemble Zvezdoliki, based in Antwerp, was founded in 2009 by flutist Oriana Dierinck. Within its projects and programs, the artistic director blends renowned and lesser-known composers and compositions, both old and new. The ensemble also curates its own concert series. Zvezdoliki plays at cultural centres, chamber music venues and classical music festivals.
