Organised by the Basque Centre of Berlin, and with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute, the 7th Berlin Basque Film Festival will take place from November 14 to 16.

After reading the novel “The Impostor”, Professor Unai Eguía begins an investigation to uncover what happened to Enric Moner, a Catalan republican deported to Nazi camps. At the same time, Antón Gandarias investigates his uncle Anjel Lekuona, who was captured by the Gestapo in exile. Their paths cross and their research takes them to Prague, where they discover the incredible story of František Suchý and his son, who risked their lives to preserve the ashes of 2,000 victims of Nazism.

How could a modest river like the Oria compete, from the 16th century onwards, with major rivers such as the Rhine, the Thames, the Seine, or the Guadalquivir? The Orio estuary is a place of great history that has largely gone unnoticed: the Altxerri cave, whaling, shipyards that were a reference across Europe, life in the farmhouses… Guided by rower Nagore Urdapilleta, this documentary takes us on a journey upstream along the Oria, uncovering the history, stories, and remarkable places of its estuary.
