The cultural programme I Baschi alla Biennale 1976/2026 revisits the historic Basque presence in the context of the Venice Biennale 50 years ago and connects it with contemporary artistic creation today. In 1976, Basque artists and creators positioned their work on an international stage within a transformative political and cultural context.
Half a century later, the programme presented in this context traces a path between past and present, between memory and creation. It brings together different dimensions —academic, artistic and institutional— and calls on cultural agents, artists and thinkers to engage in a shared exercise of reflection and projection.
